Our Approach
Having a reliable network infrastructure in the workplace is an essential component of modern business.
At GNS we are keenly aware that IT networks are the bedrock upon which our clients utilize their technology investment. Constructing the best network for a business requires a good deal of technical knowledge, a broad base and depth of experience, and efficient planning. At GNS we leverage our extensive qualifications in all three areas to get our customers running with the solution that fits their needs, and continues to serve them well for years. Team
GNS has a fantastic team of Cisco-Certified staff with extensive experience in building small, medium and large scale networks. We've designed and supported everything from small doctors offices with six computers networked together, right up to equity trading floors, with dozens of servers and fibre-connected workstations, utilizing international WAN links for real-time trading. We have market data specialists who have designed and built some of the most demanding LAN environments imaginable; 10Gb pipes feeding dozens of different broadcast domains with multicast IP packets. If you can envisage it, we have probably built something very similar and, most importantly, have learned what works and what doesn't in order to provide scaleable and robust implementations.

Hardware
Although we specialize in Cisco equipment, we live in the real world and know that good hardware can come from a number of different vendors. We often mix and match platforms to get the best value and feature set. We constantly watch the marketplace and look for new equipment that can be useful for our clients. Our test environment uses a large range of systems that we use for testing compatibility and alternate network designs. Any new design will always be tested, before implementation on a customer's site. We have the ability to simulate Frame Relay, T1, T3 WAN connectivity as well as WLANS and VPN's between sites. We have even brought in vendor data feeds to help simulate traffic levels when it's been useful in the design process.

Security
Network security is a huge issue for many of our clients, especially those with sensitive financial data. As well as designing and building rock solid Internet/DMZ/LAN solutions, we also provide IDS configurations and, if required, real-time monitoring of internal networks. All of our hosted environments require strict PCI compliance and we easily surpass that with continuous checks from outside and inside the network using industry standard tools as well as tools and procedures that we have developed ourselves. We take security very seriously, and keep current in the industry, and best of breed technologies.

Management
Implementing a fast, secure network solution that exceeds our clients expectations and gives them great value for money isn't the end of the story for us. We monitor systems 24*7 for all our clients and that includes their network infrastructure. Our technicians are ready to act at the first sign of an issue and, very often, well before it's noticed by our customers. We are well aware that "downtime == money" with networks and we work quickly to replace defective hardware and/or utilize redundant pathways in the network.
